Martina Biolo (Padova 1996) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
She is an artist who researches and conceives sculptural works and installations that evoke an intimate dimension and family memories.
Her artistic research investigates everyday objects to extract stories and vicissitudes that follow one another in our lives, focusing on symbolic and
cultural aspects.
Biolo reflects on the attitude of man and on the Instability of the bond he has with objects, be they temporary or persistent, detaching them from their daily lives, elevating them, giving them uniqueness and importance in our existence. In recent years, the artist has worked on site-specific projects involving small communities of people and experimenting directly on the territory, combining reality with imagination, using insecurities, weaknesses and precariousness of the real world to feed the magic of memory.
Her installations show sensitivity and attention to the often tiring issue of safeguarding, protecting and preserving a past, very often forgotten and little valued by the community. Biolo’s sculptures and installations crystallize time and provide the necessary tools to preserve, protect and protect.
The objects, the places are testimonies of today’s society, they speak of transformations, of progress, contemporary.
